THE BACKGROUND OF SPACE

The SPACE programme was originally developed within the Hutt Playcentre Association before being launched to Playcentre Associations and other community organisations nationwide.

SPACE is governed by the SPACE NZ Trust, a not-for-profit organisation which is registered with the Charities Commission.

We value parents in their vital role as nurturers and educators.  At SPACE we recognise the challenges and rewards parenting can bring, and seek to support parents in their consideration of the different perspectives that are provided on a range of child development and parenting topics.

Furthermore, we encourage parents to use the SPACE programme as a forum to share their own parenting experiences.

The SPACE programme can also provide guidance on where to access further resources and support within your community.
