Our team
We believe that every new parent can be vulnerable & in need of support as they transition to parenthood
Our Space team is committed to ensuring that universally available & responsive post-natal support is an integral part of having a baby in Aotearoa New Zealand.
We share the philosophy of Te Whāriki (the early childhood curriculum that underpins all early childhood care & education in NZ): that learning begins at home, & that parents & quality early childhood programmes play a significant role in laying the foundations for successful future learning.
Space for you and your baby supports baby's to establish those intimate, responsive & trusting relationships that are part of the weaving together of Te Whāriki’s key curriculum requirements, & empowers sociable, loving & physically responsive parenting that is so important for infant development.
Our universal approach serves all new parents regardless of background & culture while our unique dual curriculum provides for the parent, the baby & the community.
We work collaboratively with a diverse range of national & local organisations who deliver Space for you and your baby to their communities
We believe in parenting today for tomorrow through creating lasting generational change where:
- Every parent & child is valued & supported
- Engagement in early childhood education begins when you become a parent
- Strong families build strong communities
- Together we can create a better future for New Zealand
